Default PROBLEM: Phone keeps connecting and disconnecting!

Anyone's phone ever keep connecting and disconnecting from Bluetooth?

Had this happen for the first time earlier today.

Went away after shut down and restart of the car.

What kind of phone is it? Is it compatible? You can always check at www.lexus.com/mobilelink
If it's an iPhone, I've seen them do funny things when not restarted on a regular basis. Same really goes for most phones. It helps to restart them every few days.

I have an iphone 5 and it seems to disconnect and connect only when i'm trying to charge my phone through USB. It gets really annoying when im trying to listen to music over bluetooth and it keeps stopping every 10 seconds.

I talked to apple and they said it was on Lexus' end. So i will be bringing up the problem when my car goes for its 6 month service next month.

Interesting; I too have an iPhone 5 and believe it was happening when charging...

I had that problem with my Android. Dealer said it was the phone, phone co. said it was the car. Dealer finally admitted it was the car. I am not very happy with their service dept. Dealer ordered a new part, took a month to arrive, but that fixed it.

What part did they order? Did it fix it?

What's the best way to reproduce this?

Thank you!

I have an iPhone 5S and when I plugged it directly into the USB port and played music through bluetooth, my audio would stop every so often and say "iPod Error". I didn't know what it was but I fixed it buy using a DC plug instead.

The technology dept at the dealership said "it's just one of those things" when I asked them about it. It's funny, mine seems to disconnect around this same rural area lending some support to the problem being linked to losing service. We'll see

That fixed that problem for me as well. Also, the phone charges faster with the DC connection

What does everyone mean by DC plug / connection?

I understand direct and alternating current, but do you mean cigarette lighter vs. USB?

Nevertheless, it'd be nice to have a functioning USB socket, as it's most streamlined.

The cigarette lighter is what we mean by DC.

No but I do not charge any phone in any car. I found this statement in the manual that might apply to you.

An iPhone cannot be connected via
Bluetooth® and USB connection at the
same time. However, it is possible to
recharge an iPhone while using applications
by connecting via USB. The system
uses the connection method that was
used last. Therefore, if connected via
USB after Bluetooth® connection, it is
necessary to reconnect the iPhone via
Bluetooth®.
Goes along with what everyone else is saying on how they can charge their phone via DC power and still play via Bluetooth. If you want to charge via USB than why not just select USB/ipod as your source media? Someone here said they get better quality doing this. Not sure I understand why it would be better but worth a try if you are going to hook it up anyway.
