Default my friend who drives the bmw 428 is impressed by my IS

I was having a mini car meet with my buddies over the weekend. It was the debut of my is250. The most expansive car of the days was a BMW 428 with the M package. The owner was impressed by my boy. When we opened the hoods, the attention to details Lexus had clearly won over the bimmer. The Bimmer had lots of ugly wielding seams all over the place, some of the metal parts on the engine looks crudely made. WHile my Lexus's engine bay look very organized, with nicely designed covers and all the small parts look finely made. And when he took a ride on my car, he was surprised by the level of quietness and overall built quality of it.

Of course the bimmer was really powerful and sounded very sexy. And i wish i had the extra $ to get the is350 or the future isf ( here in Hong Kong, the price different between 250 and 350 is huge, 250 is roughly 53K us$ while 350 only comes in F sport for 98K us$) But until then, i am a very happy and proud Lexus owner.

The only thing that sounds crazy to me is that there is an engine bay uglier the 250/350 cause it is by far one of the ugliest I have seen. Especially when compared to Audi

Audi needs an attractive engine bay since owners spend so much time with the hood up. Gotta remind them some how why they paid a premium for the car.

Lol that was pretty funny. Even though I had a worse time with my 2nd gen is (carbon build up recall) then my b4 Audi. So I ended up with the 3rd gen is cause I couldn't go to Audi or BMW and say Lexus sold me a lemon what are you going to do for me

Doesnt the IS250 F Sport sound better than the 428i? I thought the 428i sounded horrible but maybe thats just me, small turbocharged 4 pots just dont do it.

No replacement for displacement!

because mine is250 is not f sport, they are only available in 350 in my country, i would think the lexusv6 sounds wonderful too. but the cabin is so sound-proof, most of the engine note is filtered.

To be fair, the direct competition to the 3L BMW inline 6 is the 3.5L V6 in the IS350, not the 2.5L in the IS250.

I rode in a F30 320i and was impressed with it; I thought it compared favourably to my IS300h in many ways.
