Man so sorry to see this happen to you. Glad you are ok and no one involved was severely injured...cant believe you aren't in any pain. I went through someone very similar recently on my 3 week old 3IS. Feel free to PM me if you want to connect or have any questions...

Too much distracted driving out there. NOTHING is more important than keeping your eyes on the road especially on the highway. I got rear-ended with my 2IS, and yet again with my CT only months after I got them.

Glad no one was hurt.

I totally agree - while I couldn't what the culprit here was doing, I do know she didn't even try to slow down until it was much too late. I see many, many more people that don't react when the light turns green, or don't look when merging into traffic, than even 10 years ago. It's ridiculous.

The other day, I saw a guy shaving (electric razor) while driving. Really? You can't wake up 1 minute earlier and shave at home???

Thanks. It was in Richmond, headed west just past the Staples Mill exit in rush hour traffic.

Don't understand why this would be totaled, though, if I were you, I'd want it to be.

The car is brand new (high value) and seems to have held its shape.

Is there frame / axle damage not shown?

Are you going through the Jeep's insurance policy?

Maybe place a 'special order' for a 2015 and stay in a rental as long as possible.

In all, thankfully, nothing compared to this repair:

So sorry to hear that, glad you were able to safely walk away! I had a similar situation in my previous Lexus (2013 IS 250 F-Sport) luckily it was totaled. As for the security deposit, if it's totaled, it's gone. You could always sue, but I'm not sure how profitable that would end up being. If I were you, I'd hope it would end up being totaled (depending how much I have in security deposits, and if I planned on trading out of the lease early).

@carderoni
That's heart breaking! As has been said, best part is everyone is ok. After just having gone through a violent crash that point is very strong within me now. I was also hit by an uninsured driver who also thought he was in the right. Well just like that girl in the Tahoe will find out, blame will still be put on them.

@skrules
You too! WTF. Sorry dude... that's horrible.

Aaaaaand it's totaled

Hopefully some of its parts can be salvaged for another unfortunate 3IS.

On the brighter side my dealer is now locating a silver RWD 350 F-Sport

How much is the estimate for its repair?

Hard to believe it's $30k+!

The repairs add up. I got rear ended last week (You can see my damages on the first page of this thread). Bumper and trunk are badly damaged. The collision center has give a quote of 17K to the insurance!!!! Seeing the damage for Carderoni's car, it should be infinitely more since the side panels also get damaged. Looks like these things add up like crazy.

I was talking to a friend who deals with insurance companies and he said that when a vehicle is in its first new model year and gets into an accident, they are more on the side of totaling it out. It has to do something with less body parts available to repair, than if the body style was a few years old. Not sure how true that is however.

OR frame damage
