I am averaging about 22.7mpg now with mix Freeway/City (50/50ish ...maybe 60/40). It doesn't seem to matter if I use Normal or ECO mode. The gauge has been getting more accurate now too. Last tank it was only 0.6 off versus hte 2.3 on my first tank.

I said it earlier but Winter Time + High Humidity + Short High Traffic drives always == horrible gas mileage for me. I litterally saw an increase from 16-18mpg in DC to 25-27mpg moving here.

The winter time is a great way to find which gas stations suck too. Some have a horrible winter mix. Fuel is supposed to be the same no matter where you get it, outside of a few detergents but I've litterally increased 50 miles per tank switching from one gas station to another. Since I was averaging 25mpg that was like getting 2 gallons of gas for free making that switch. So I go to the gas stations I've had better luck with than the ones offering a "better deal" like 10c/gal. Ten cents per gallon only comes out to about $1.30 per tank but if I'm getting 50 miles more per tank that is $3/gal x2.

Either way though, winter time on the east coast always meant I was getting crappy gas mileage.

14-16 mpg's is normal for the IS350!?

I'm lucky if I get 14 mpg's; usually closer to 12-13 mpg's.

Window sticker ratings aren't accurate, but shouldn't we get AT LEAST 17 mpg's?

I understand winter gasoline differs, but my mpg's have been awful since new (Oct. 2013).

50-50 city to highway, premium gas (Sunoco or Shell) and this is in ECO!

Which dealer did you purchase from? Where do you live?

I used Lexus of Queens and live in the Five Towns near JFK Airport.

Have you brought yours to the dealer for poor mpg’s yet? If so, what result?
hey ive noticed that since ECO mode decreases the throttle response. I used to sometimes over compensate to get more speed out of the car. if what I said makes sense. pretty much on my very first tank I had such ****ty gas milege driving in eco only and I was dumbfounded. now I just drive strictly in normal and ocassionaly sport mode with the same driving habits etc. and im averaging much better milege. if you open up the throttle more, you use more gas. even though the car is in ECO mode all it does is decrese the response, but to compensate you push down on the throttle more thus burning more gas. I mean that's what I think, im no expert but its worked for me. I live in NY as well so I know how crappy the commuting can be around here lol

Depends on how you're driving. Lots of stop and go, I can definitely see 14mpg. The extreme cold probably knocks off 1-2mpg as well. I've been driving 70% suburban city (so not even stop and go) and 30% highway and I'm only getting 18-19mpg, which is what it's rated for city driving. All likely due to the extreme cold that we've experienced this winter.

In addition to my own poor numbers of less than 14 mpg's, I see the following:

Jhooks (IS350) @ 11.6 mpg’s

KumaF (IS350) @ 15 mpg’s

corradoMR2 (IS250) @ 15 mpg’s

mnm27mnm (IS350) @ 15.5 mpg’s

Thanks.
Why don't you hit up the EPA and tell them to update their testing cycles??

Default Very surprise to see this thread so active

2014 IS F sport 350. I have about 8.5K miles on it with an avg MPG of 24.

My driving is about 50/50 city and hwy. I wish it would was better but it's close to what was advertised.

65 City /35 Highway
  • 19-20 mpg on Normal/Sport with semi lead foot
  • 23-24 mpg on ECO driving normally.

I get about 16mpg (Normal Mode) in town on the streets and up 24mpg on freeway. I actually got 27 (Eco Mode) for a tank when i drove from Omaha to Arizona after picking up the car from the lot, but part of that was other traffic and construction slowing things down enough the average speed was 50 for that section of the trip. Doubt i could reproduce that again unless i forced my self to drove that slow.

If you put in Sport + and step on the peal a lot the gas disappears fast but its fun to drive

Ouch! My Chevy Avalanche averages 14.1 MPG but it has that thing where it turns off cylinders while on the freeway.

With about 2,000 miles on the odometer, I am getting about 21 mpg 50/50 city/highway. I am using normal and Sport + modes equally.

if you care about MPG, get a Prius. if you are doing short trips and stuck in traffic, expect to get in the low teens.
