I normally buy a car a replace the air filter with a factory fit K&N from day one but in the case of the new IS I can't find it and the K&N website doesn't have it.

Does anyone know if the old IS250 air filter is the same?

To my understanding it's the same as the 2nd Gen.

You might have to do some digging. Search for pics/part # for the 2IS 250 filter and compare with the 3IS... If you see a match at minimum in dimensions (as part numbers may change despite being the same item), my conclusion would be that it's the same and will work. Good luck

Thanks for heads up! It is the same as the old GS and posted on the K&N website just last week.

I put it on Saturday. I must admit, it has a larger effect on larger engines than in the 250, but it does give a little extra kick.

What is the difference between oiled and dry air filters? I was thinking about getting this K&N replacement filter.

Reusable K&N filters have a thin layer of oil that help trap dirt particles. This oil sometimes get on sensors and cause malfunctions. The f-sport filter is a dry filter and does not use any oil.
