Default Vinyl wrap vs. Clear Bra

Question.... Im thinking of vinyl wrapping my other car (not Lexus). Will it prevent rock chips just like a clear bra will or is the vinyl not resilient to chips?

I dont think you can vinyl wrap a car with a clear bra but I may be wrong.

Sure you can wrap an entire car in clear film... just costs more. Vinyl won't give much protection, it's less "rubbery".

Not clear film. It was going to get wrapped in a Matte gray.

Vinyl will not protect against rock chips. Its solely used for looks. Paint protection film is designed for preventing damage and is made from polyurethane. Two completely different products.

Vehicles can be wrapped in paint protection film. We just finished a pearl white Dodge Viper in Houston. Every inch of it was wrapped. Its just costly to do, but not much different than a vinyl wrap.

Can you vinyl wrap a car with a clear bra or will it pull off the clear bra when you remove the vinyl? I dont want to wrap my whole car in clear. I wanted a color change.

my understanding of a vinyl wrap (which i currently have it on my car) of course it will project from rock chips, the vinyl has a thickness... and duh it would project from sunrays. NO SUN IS HITTING THE CAR. but thats just my logic. whole wrap at the place i do all my **** at will be like 2500. pros for sure. they been doing it for yearsss. nearly disassemble the whole car haha.

goodluck!!

Vinyl is designed for looks only. It does not have any strength to resist rock rocks so they will tear right through it. Paint protection film is designed to stop rocks. Grab a piece of vinyl and try to tear it or push a key through it. Then do the same with paint protection film and see the difference.
