What's the deal with VGRS?

What's the deal with the variable gear ratio steering (VGRS) option for the 350 FSport RWD? Does anyone have any experience with it? Is it worth it? I'm about to do a special order and I'm considering all the options.

People on the bimmer forums say it's pretty mandatory on those cars as it reduces the poor steering feel everyone complains about. The only thing I've read about it on the Lexus is that it feels a little weird on the highway, but comes into its own when you're driving aggressively in the corners. That's from the C+D comparison article.

I think the most everyday use of it, that I have read about, is that it makes it easier to make sharp turns at low speeds, like in a parking lot.

And it also comes with powered tilt and telescope steering wheel. It will automatically retract as you turn off the engine.

Powered tilt/telescope steering wheel is a Lexus feature I really like which doesn't come with similar cars in its class (at least in my market).

It is especially useful as the IS F-sport comes with bucket seats that sit quite low and its much more comfortable to get on-off the car.

Power tile and telescoping steering wheel is something I appreciate all the time in 2IS. Even in regular 3IS without VGRS, it is available in some packages.
