buy one of those front brackets and zip tie the bracket to the lower air dam. then use screws to screw the license plate into the bracket.

something like this

That's what I was talking about but those fasteners look even better.

I have not had a front plate on my 2IS and told my dealer that when my car arrives, no front plate bracket or the deal is off. I will take my chances. I have never been pulled over in my 2IS as of yet. Of course there is a first time for everything. I think the front bracket destroys the F-Sport grille.

The law the CA dealer must adhere to.

Dealer already drilled mine so I had no choice but I did take off the plate until I get a warning. Drill holes aren't noticeable compared with 2IS.

"adhere" lol

My Automall puts plates on most of the popular models like the RX and ES, but we don't on everything else. When a car is sold we give the option (if it's not already drilled) for the guest. If they decline, they must sign a waiver form that the dealership is not responsible for any charges or fines regarding a front plate on the car. So no, not every dealership drills

Yep, that is what I expect takes place at most dealers. Glad it's not required in Arizona. However the tint law here is tougher than CA I believe.

My dealer gave me the option -- can't remember if I signed a waiver -- probably did.

I say if you have the IS F Sport like my self it's best if you don't put a license plate on the front until you get stopped by a cop. I live in Cali (Los Angeles) and the cops are some what a$$ holes in some places but i say run the risk and see how long you can roll without a license plate on that beautiful grill.

You should worry less, it's not a huge deal. Ever since I had my first car, I never had a front plate. Just don't look suspicious.

someone is angry and jealous or something.

Tow hook holder is a quick on/off solution. Or just put it lower.

Just like dojoman, mine came with it already drilled in. I took it off (holes aren't noticeable) and will just worry about it if I get pulled over/get a ticket. It looks way better without it IMO.

On my previous vehicle, I actually had a parking enforcement officer leave a ticket on the windshield for me for not having a front plate attached. Until then, I thought you had to be pulled over for it.
