i didn't get the greatest deal but i got the car that i wanted and it was really difficult to find.

is250, luxury-navigation packages, ML, matador red mica with parchment leather

the damn 250 is really difficult to find with the lux package! i had to have the car shipped from another dealer.

~45k msrp

42k paid less the 11k put down in the form of a trade in.

purchased some dealer options and wound up financing ~37k (otd price paid including ttl)

just an okay deal - i really wish that fully-loaded is250s were more readily available. that said, i was really picky about the color scheme and packages that i wanted. i absolutely would not settle for any other combination.

came from a 2is (is250) and while the 350 would have been nice the extra financed costs would have set the payment too high with the options that i absolutely wanted. that, and since i was coming from a second-gen 250 and it met my needs, i was okay with the lateral powertrain move.

Default help needed!

Hey guys,

New on the forum here, appreciating all of the info. I'm trying to lease a 350 white/red f-sport RWD for 27 months. Just started making the rounds to the dealers and I'm trying to get 44k out the door or around a $400/mo payment. Is that too aggressive of an offer or not enough? Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Can anyone confirm the availability and amount of APR cash rebate at the moment? Where can I find this information from Lexus (in case the dealer denies there is any)? Need this info ASAP. Thanks so much!!!

Unrelated to pricing but didn't want to start another thread. How MANY miles did your IS have when you picked it up from the dealer lot? What would be your highest acceptable limit i.e. 50, 100 miles?

I love this car! Just came over from a 2006 Acura TL...
Tell me about it. I upgraded from a 2008 TL and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how much smoother it is. In the TL I could feel single bump in the road. And I can't even stand the squeaks and cracks in that car from all the cheap plastics in it.

Love my 350 F Sport AWD. Although gas mileage is still as poor as the TL.

8 miles. No one had driven it. Still had the wheel plastics and sticker plastics all over he car. But then again I test drove another 350 in a different color to get a feel for the car. I wouldn't buy anything which had more than 50 miles.

Ours had 11 miles. Personally, I would prefer less than 20. Anything beyond that probably means the car was test driven by multiple people already (and we all know what happens on test drives), so I would be more hesitant to get that car. If it has over 100 miles, the dealer better be selling it at used car prices, or it has to be the only car available in the whole state for me to even consider it...and even then, I probably wouldn't take it.

Thanks again, WiLz!

I must say I am tired of this shopping experience. Am I demanding too much? I contacted ALL dealers in SoCal via email. Few responded with actual prices. Mostly around $44k before rebates. Finally one took another 700 off but turns out the car already has 65 miles! I want a white/red 350 and they are rare as hell even in SoCal! Yet 2 dealers told me they put over 60 miles on theirs already!

To summarize my experience so far
Dishonest dealers (Cerritos, Tustin, Keyes) or poor pricing (the rest) - I will share more after my purchase in case they are reading this
Morons at dealers put 65 plus miles on a brand new car and expect buyers to still pay full price

Just want to buy the car I want for a good price, similar to what you guys paid. Is that too much to ask for, SoCal Lexus dealers?

Seems to me a better comparison would be a percentage of sticker price. Back when I purchased new 2008 IS350 here in Southern California, I paid 88.8% of the bottom line sticker price. To clarify, that does not include the sales tax or license doc fees of $379, which are pass through costs that vary by location. If I recall, that was about $450 over invoice at the time, which I believe gets very close to the best deal I could reasonable expect to get. Now that I'm looking to buy a new 2014 IS 350, that's my same target price.

By the way, none of my numbers include any dealer add-ons, like tinting, rims, Lojack, etc. The profit margins on those items skews the comparison.

So he gave me a price of $46,900.00 on finance 1.99% i was wondering if i can go for maybe $45,500.00 would be a good deal or no? Thanks for the tips and feedback
Same exact MSRP in Mass as both of you guys car. Same color combination except mine ultra white with black interior (didn't care for the red). I ended up leasing it for 46,000 price 27 months, 10K miles, 2500 down with first months payment included (1200 toward cap cost reduction). $450/month including taxes for RI. Yours is better at 415 if that includes tax and only 1400 down.

I'm an idiot for forgetting the student 1000 rebate.
