IS200d is not the same engine as in IS220d... It is something that was reported by UK media but it is simply not true. Its 2AD-FTV. Output did not drop as it is not the same engine. 2AD-FHV had 177hp too. There were plenty of differences, main one being larger turbo and DCAT emissions system, as well as higher pressure fuel pump/injectors... it gave it more power but also made it sluggish in lower revs as well, and consumption was much higher due to de-NOx system and 5th injector. Not to mention that it used different gearbox as well. Overall, 2AD-FTV is much better engine, but less power.
Hmmm now you got me curious. But this is really for a different discussion in the 2nd Gen IS forum.

:-)

Keep in mind that most of them dont sell diesel anymore due to not updated emissions rules in EU, but most of them sold 220d it up to end of 2012, even if the numbers overall for IS range were tiny after 2009.

It is just the Lexus UK and UK media are spreading misinformation about "EU".

I think Lexus UK removed 220d simply because it had bad rep for reliability, but then they did not communicate to their dealers that 200d is a different engine from 220d, but rather most of them think it is "same" just "detuned", while in reality, it is very different engine.

I never drove it in IS, but I have 220d and I have driven 2AD-FTV in many Toyota vehicles, 3-4 of which I actually owned. In summary, 2AD-FTV is much better engine overall, with much lower consumption and probably long term reliability, but with less punch once the turbo gets going. Only way you can get those stated numbers of 2AD-FHV is if you look at gas pedal and not press it.

Guys can you help me with a confusion that I have> in the lexus general website the 3IS width is mentioned as 71.3 inches (1811 mm) and it mentions with the mirrors folded in!

on the other hand in the Lexus Australia it mentions in a picture with the mirrors folded out as 1810 mm.

anybody know which one is correct? it is crucial to me.

thanks

i think you missed the point. What im asking is if the width is with or without the mirrors folded. That would make a good few cm difference. Thanks

I would think its because CT and IS300h overlaps in its hybrid similarity and Who wants to buy is300h in US can get CT200h instead
