Default Oil change, 0w20 to 5w30?

Doing my oil change in a few days.

I read sone where that changing from 0w20 to 5w30 vice versa is not good for the engine, it may cause oil leaks because of sweating, can anyone confirm this?

My last oil change was 0w20 because I daily drove it in the city, but recently I've been wanting to do some spirited driving in the canyons and wanted to use a higher viscosity oil(5w30)
what oil weight do some of you guys use in so Cal? How do you drive your car? Any enthusiasts on board? (:

Given the potential (although arguable and hotly debated) for problems, I wouldn't change to 5w-30. It's unlikely that any canyon carving would really boost oil temps that high enough that changing to 5w-30 would help to reduce engine wear. Plus, how often after you going to be canyon carving? This might be more reasonable if were regularly at the track, for example.
