2023 Lexus IS350 bumper gap?
Hi, I recently noticed that there’s a gap between my front bumper and fender on the drivers side of my IS. There’s no damage anywhere around the area so not sure how this even happened. I’m not really familiar with bumper installations and removal but would this be a DIY fix or is this something an auto body would need to take a look at? Not a huge deal but my OCD is killing me 🤣

To me, it looks like the slot and groove bumper attachment isn't secured. What happens if you gently push it close to the headlight?
I had to remove the bumper of my Fusion to change bulbs and if I didn't get it completely snapped up...it would look like that.

Uaa258 - yup, as a 500 owner, I have a tiny gap (not as bad as yours) but many IS 500 owners have the issue and while Lexus came up with technical bulletin, it was a disaster! A forum member discovered the cause of the problem and actually developed a gizmo that solves this issue and should become available for sale soon. It is amazing that this guy did what Lexus couldn't do for us! I am not 100% sure if it will work on the 350 bumper but from what I understand, it will. To be 100% sure, go to the thread below and ask the guy who worked on it (cyfi66)

Looking at the IS500 thread on it, it seems like it’s not a rare issue at all. When I push it close to the headlight it’ll stick for a split second before sagging back down. I have an appointment this Friday with my salesperson and his management to take a look, fingers cross it goes well and hopefully they don’t try to shift the blame onto the shop that did ppf on my bumper 🤞

I did report it to the dealer with photos last summer, just so it was documented. I am in Canada so the TSB is not applicable here anyway and i am happy, because i will be able to use the parts that was developed and produced by the forum member and have an actual fix and not deal with their shenanigans

Now, the front bumper on the IS 500 is different from the one on the IS 350, so there is a chance the fix won't work out of the box.

Kindly refer to the latest on this thread for more info on that: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ollection.html

The hood, front fenders, and bumper are all different on the 500 to make room for the engine. However, it seems there is probably something in common between the two if the front bumpers all have the same issue.

I wonder if the dealership will even take a look at the TSB if I mention it since that basically proves the issue but we shall see.
