Default TPWS Malfunction error on brand new vehicle

Lurker here for awhile, just purchased a new 2023 IS350FS for my wife, moving up from an Infiniti Q50. Thanks to the many contributors on the CL forum, really helped us decide.

We bought at Lexus of Pembroke Pines in Ft Lauderdale area, but live 3 hours away up the west coast (wanted the ML audio and handling package, so we made the drive).

Not so easy to go back to dealer, as they are not close.

This light came on about 10 miles after we left dealership, I checked tire pressures and they are at recommended psi. Have not been able to reset the TPMS.

Not so easy to go back to dealer, as they are not close.

I tried to reset through the menu toggle, but was unable to select the TPMS option.

Any advice on how I can fix this, or do I need to go by a nearby Lexus dealer?

Go to the nearest dealer, it needs to be synced again most likely

Thanks for responding.

I did find the fix - the TPMS ID codes were never registered, followed the steps laid out at: https://www.wheelsjoint.com/lexus-is...-how-to-reset/ and all is good now.

I was under the impression as of 2018 they reset themselvesl?. All you have to do is change the TPMS It will recognize the new unit and program. The serial number itself. Has anybody else heard anything like this?
