2021 Plus IS's Black Chrome Wheels Scratch fixes:

I'm looking to touch up small scratches on my 2021 IS350 AWD(not the BBS)rims that I noticed yesterday. Does anyone have good products that are not pricey to suggest?

There are posts on here where someone tried to touch up the black chrome. It does not work. You either have to get them re-dipped, or just buy new ones. If you don't care how they look, search for the thread on here where he has close up photos.

I called our dealer to fix my wife's RX350 wheels and even he asked, "they're not chrome wheels, are they?"...

Yeah I’m on the same boat, my wheels are curbed badly (thanks to my wife…) and cannot fix them anywhere. If I wouldn’t be getting aftermarket wheels anyway, I’d powdercoat them in black or any different color like my friend did - they basically removed all chrome and powdercoated it gloss black for him. Now he can fix them easily with any gloss black touch up paint in case of curb rash.

The scratch is very small on the outer rim. Im hoping a matte black will be good enough.

Just purchased a 22 IS350 with these wheels. Previous owner couldnt drive or park evidenced by the front drivers wheel. That's the only wheel with damage. I just got gloss black wheel paint from Amazon and touched it up. Doesn't look good for my taste but looks better than before. At least the silver doesn't show through and from a distance its ok. I'd love to replace that wheel but it'll do for now.

I wouldn't spend money on it if it's very small. I'd just use a black Sharpie and call it a day.

I had a thread on this. Please go check it out: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...me-wheels.html

I wouldn't want you to have to repeat the experience I had. I basically ended up getting a replacement wheel.

wow, what a journey! Glad you got the new wheel tho. I called the dealer, $1,073 for a new wheel so I think your frustration with DT was worth it. My dealership also informed me that another Lexus dealership in my area does repair these wheels in their body shop. I called them and they confirmed that information and said its a 90% match and $160. Takes 3-4 hrs total. Think I'm gonna have them look at my wheel then go from there.

Yeah, let them take a look and tell you if they can fix it. I had to explain to the wheel guy that it was a chrome-type finish and that I wasn't sure if it could be matched. They proceeded to try anyway. I am skeptical of the "90% match..." What makes this wheel look the way it does is the chromed finish - it should be almost mirror-like when it's been freshly washed.

Best of luck.

So check this out. Called the dealership, they want $1,073 for the wheel new. Then called my buddy that owns a body shop. He called the dealership to get a price. They told him retail is $880, but his price is $693. What a markup! So, hes gonna orders me a new one and be done with it. I don't want to take a chance on a "90% match" job on a relatively new car. If it was maybe 5 or more yrs old I prob would spin the 90% wheel but not on a new looking '22.

At 2500 miles a car wash jacked my front drivers up and wouldn't pay. I ended up purchasing a brand new rim from Bell Lexus for under 600 bucks. luckily my dealer put it on for 30 bucks. I also was quoted the locar dealer price retail was over a grand. Local Dealerships, jacking their customers is ridiculous. Cheaper to buy online at another dealer is not right. On Lexus.parts.com online at my local dealer. It was even cheaper. like $730. But still to rip off your retail customers purchase vehicles from you is disgusting. Always shop around!
Fair warning these wheels finish are very delicate and just changing tires can cause the chrome to peel off.

You may want to check out Bell Lexus North Scottsdale. They have the wheels on their website for sale. Look to be around $500 each. Shipping looks to be minimal. Worth a shot. Make sure you know the part number because there are many options. Two of which are over $1,400.
