The ECT button stands for Electronic Control Transmission. It puts the transmission in a more aggressive mode so it holds gears longer, as well as increases throttle response. In "normal" mode the gears will shift for more efficiency and comfort, sometimes even skipping gears. In ECT mode you will notice the gears are held longer the more aggressive you drive. Hope that answers your question

On my RWD it doubles the power to the front. Yours doesn't do this??

my car does go very fast when I press the power button. It becomes a drag racer from the traffic stop and I also feel like the car gets stiffer and makes vroom sounds - if it makes any sense.
I was just wondering if I can use it always.

Other than MPG's going up it shouldn't hurt anything
