weight reduction
I mean... there's not much besides gutting the car. The spare tire and jack might cut off 40-60 pounds. You can look into lightweight aftermarket rims. iirc, last time this came up, it's somewhere between 50-100lbs just to shave off a tenth of a second on a quarter mile, so for the most part, it's really not worth gutting the car and just living with what you have.
Nothing personal but on the motorcycle forum I moderate, this comes up often and we usually start with the rider! lol
Granted it's not apples to apples here but what is your objective?
Is it acceleration? Better yet, what are you willing to trade it for? Stereo, sunroof, sound deadening, CF driveshaft?
These already have an aluminum hood and those without a sunroof, an aluminum roof.
There is a thread in the IS-F forum where it went full race and that guy chucked a lot of stuff... IIRC the sunroof assembly was 45 pounds off the top and the whole roof was replaced with CF.

Like some have said, it depends what your objective is. When i had the is250 i went with lighter wheels, lighter battery, headers and coil overs and lighter single exhaust. The stock dual catback exhaust is 40lbs, the stock battery is also 40lbs, even the coil overs are lighter than the stock suspension. The stock seats are 63lbs each, the spare tire is 30lbs, stock headers are 11.2lbs each, stock wheels are 26lbs front and 26.5lbs rear. I hope this helps..

What is the best weight reduction for an IS 250 that is not gutting the whole car?
From what I’ve seen with the 2nd gen IS, most of the “easy” weight reduction is pretty small unless you start sacrificing comfort. People usually begin with the spare tire and jack (around 40–60 lbs), then lighter wheels or a lighter battery. Beyond that you’re getting into things like seats or exhaust changes. Honestly for a daily driver the balance between comfort and weight savings matters more than chasing tiny numbers. Funny enough, the same idea of simplifying systems shows up outside cars too — I’ve come across similar thinking on https://wellness-app.com/ top free intermittent fasting app.
