Default Rain sensing wipers

Should the gel pad be touching the windshield?
On my 08 Is350 it is touching and the seem to work as they should. I recently purchased a 15 RX350 windshield was replaced a few weeks after purchase and they don’t seem to be working like my IS. The gel pad on the RX is not touching the glass.

Yes, the company who replaced windshield should replace
the gel pack properly.

It is a new gel pack. This car went back to the dealer 3 times due to a wind noise. Tired of bringing it back and just want to figure out how to adjust it myself.

You will need a new gel pack. Available on Amazon. There are
a few utube vids on how to change.

same thing happened when I had my windshield replaced. Only took
the guy 5 minutes to change out.

I removed the sensor today, gel pack still looks new. Never touched the glass. Do they come different thicknesses?

Not sure regarding the thickness. But from the videos I saw it is
stuck / placed directly on the windshield. Then carefully try and
remove the air bubbles. The sun will do the rest.

It may be the gel pack, I took the sensor totally off to find the gel pack was just a cut piece of silicone rubber. Not sticky at all. Just ordered a new one.
so for those that get there windshields replaced and the auto wipers don’t work, the glass company probably did shoddy work.
