Default Will these tires cause me problems?

I have a 2009 IS250 AWD all stock with 225/45/17 square, I Found a set of 215/50/17 with snow tires for a good price locally,Will these rub or cause me problems. They are slightly taller than stock. Thanks in advance I appreciate the help.

You’ll be absolutely fine, I run the same size for the winter, no issues.

They probably wouldn't scrub unless you are lowered quite a bit. The difference in height is very slight. The main thing I would be concerned about is the width. Having a thinner tire would make keeping traction more difficult, especially in the snow. If you're not using them in the snow and ice, the normal roads will eat the tires very quickly. The difference in height will also effect your speedometer and odometer very slightly. Nothing you could really measure unless you're going highway speeds. My personal opinion would be to stick with the OE tire size.

Generally, narrower tires are better in snow and on ice because they are more stable and get better linear traction by penetrating the snow.
In the winter, narrow tires are better under extreme conditions as they provide higher surface pressure against the road. Narrow tires also work better than wider ones in loose snow and slush. Wider tires, for their part, will offer more grip on hard surfaces.

Default I bought em...

I think it was a good deal, $500.00.
I'm planning on putting the snow tires on my stock rims and then put new tires of the stock size on the new wheels.
