Default Sun shade button

Does anyone know if the rear sun shade button is supposed to illuminate at night with the other buttons? I didn't take notice that it wasn't illuminated until my wife said something about it. I'm wondering if there's a small bulb back there that has gone out like the one that illuminated the gear selector.

Speddon, yes, rear Sun Shade switch will illuminate when headlight switch is set to Auto or Headlight ON setting on Left lever.. Also confirm that the Instrument Panel Light Control is set to a Bright setting, by turning it to the right.

Yes, my headlights are on and the brightness is turned up. All the other buttons, like the headlight cleaning, trunk release, and fuel door illuminate. I just thought it was odd that the sun shade button didn't illuminate. I'll have to remove that section and find out what kind of bulb is back there then.

Unsure of bulb type. Thought light might have been integrated in the switch itself however, did locate part # 9001001039 (bulb), which may be what illuminates the switch.

Awesome. Thanks. That is helpful. I'll have to see if the bulb is serviceable or not, but if it's not I guess I'll just have to replace the switch itself. Although it's just the bulb at this point, the switch itself works just fine.

Sun shade at night time? I guess you use it to block the glare from the vehicle's headlights behind you then?

I'm assuming to lower the shade when returning to the car at night, after having parked it during the day.

I don't use it at night, but it just was odd to me that all the other buttons were illuminated except that one. I guess there has been a few instances where it was up when it was sitting during the day and I needed to put it down at night.
