Aftermarket DRL's
 

Hey y'all.

Has anyone had any experiences with iJDM toy DRL's or vled DRL's?

I came across two different sets and I was just wondering how reliable both are.

I know aftermarket DRL's tend to flicker, so I was just wondering if anyone has found a good solution for this?

I have used iJDMtoy since 2013 or so. I would choose the CREE led drls over the smd style. To prevent the flickering you will have to pair it with a decoder. Be aware that you will loose the high beam function. As to the bulbs will be useless to illuminate ahead. They will still flash though if needed.

As for brands they both been around for some time.

I dont think my 07 IS350 is compatible with a COB led drl. And even though iJDM toy says a decoder will not be needed, are they actually telling the truth or will the light still flicker? Do they flicker from your experience?

You will need the R4 decoder option. Also when in doubt email customer service. They are pretty good on replying back.

This 9005 LED bulb will directly replace the stock 55W 9005 (aka HB3) halogen bulb on the high beam function as daytime running lights and the special DRL decoders will ensure the LED bulbs light up full power without malfunction issue nor flickering issue.

This nice "add-up" will transform your stock dull yellowish halogen daytime running lights into a beautiful HID matching color and look.

Have you used this? If so, how long has it lasted for you?

I was running the 9005 50W version with the decoder for a little over 3 years. The decoder is to larger for the stock OEM headlights. I took the box apart and heat shrink wrapped the module with 2" inch tubing. This allowed me to be able to put it inside the headlight. Otherwise you'll have to run it without the headlight covers.

Now I'm running the H1cree LED DRL bulbs on my after market Vipmoto headlights. I emailed iJDMtoy to get a compatible decoder. They said it wouldn't work for those size bulbs. So I just hacked in my old R4 decoder to the new H1 Bulbs. So far so good no issues here.

Don't these high power LED bulbs make it look like you have your high beams on full power and cause glare?

From what I've read, it wouldn't cause a glare since the DRL's are high beams but on "low power"
