IS250 AWD rear end help needed
Hello, first time posting on this site. I recently bought my 07 is250 a few months ago and I need to replace bearings/ axles on the rear. Upon trying to remove the hubs, found out they were corroded to the knuckles so i bought new(used) to try and cut down on the headache and maybe have a couple spares if i save the originals after. So, I go to remove the knuckes, and so far every bolt is rusted to the bushings amd i just broke a bolt on the driver side bottom of the knucke, and I can't seem to get the ball joints free. As I am a greenhorn at this and have a super low budget, is there anyone who can give me some words of advice? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. I can post pictures as requested
Give yourself a couple days to let all of the affected assemblies soak in a penetrating oil. My preferred juice is Mouse Milk, Corrosion-X, Fluid Film, and Kroil, in that order. You can also get away with automatic transmission fluid and a heat gun, but try the easier methods first. There really isn't anything any of the mentioned chemicals can seriously damage, so don't be too shy with it. Heat cycling the parts with a gun or a very careful torch flame and giving them several sharp impacts with a metal hammer (punch on the fastener, hit in the direction of the fastener shank) will help break up some of the dissimilar metal fusion. Absolute worst case scenario is to dremel a slot for a flathead or center-drill the fastener out...both techniques I avoid like the plague.
Separating the BJs should be a matter of soaking and lotsa ugga-duggas with a deadblow/pickle fork. Or, if you have access to a serious air hammer, then it's just ~1 hour and an itchy hand.
Now, inasfar as replacing the fasteners you break, I'd need to jack our car up and start taking things apart to mic the fasteners to tell you what they are.

^For ball joints, my pickle fork and 5lb hammer does the job after two blows AND AFTER soaking in PB Blaster. If nothing else works, go to town cutting anything in your way off that don't need to re-used (since you mention having gotten replacement, used knuckles).
