Default not level HID headlights - AFS related?

I did a search and came up with many issues on AFS but not like mine.

background: my 07 is250 is lowered on H&R springs and never had any issues with AFS or HID leveling.
in the past when the car is started (in the dark) and the light stalk on "auto", the lights turn on and normally do their leveling check - vertical movement and side to side, finally resting level left and right.

this week I noticed the left headlight was pointed way down and the right side was normal.
I do NOT have the AFS light blinking in the cluster.

logic has me conclude I have a bad leveling motor on the left headlight. is there a fix other than complete replacement?
I have not checked the leveling sensors on the suspension but I assume they are fine as the right headlight is functional and no AFS light.

thanks for the response! is this common? I have not heard of this myself.
I'm assuming you're talking about the leveling bolt attached to the lens itself, not the leveling sensors on the suspension.

I've done research and it doesn't seem too hard to reattach the motor to the lens (if this is indeed is the actual problem).
time to get the headlight off!

Yes, I’m talking about the bolt attacked to the light housing.

so I got around to removing the headlight this weekend and found that the rod of the auto leveling motor was still attached to the light housing.
what I did find was that the motor itself was seized or would not move when directly connected to a 12V source hence the problem I am having.
I did feel the motor try to move (stepper) under voltage and tried all combinations of polarity to see if it would make the rod move in and out...no dice!

to temporarily remedy, I reinstalled the motor but did not attach the rod to the housing.
this was enough to get the lens to aim back upwards, very close to the right headlight beam!
I will see if I can source another auto leveling motor, and I'm pretty sure it can be removed without having to go through the entire ordeal to remove the headlight itself.

what the auto leveling motor looks like removed, note the ball joint that attaches to the headlight housing to make it move up and down, per the video above.
