Default Anyone diagnose exactly what component is causing this SPECIFIC sunroof rattle?

I've got this EXACT rattle driving me absolutely bonkers when going over bumps in the road. I've seen a lot about various types of rattles relating to this sunroof, but mine is the exact same as the one in the video.

Does anyone have an idea whats causing it, or how to quieten down?

It's the hinges themselves. If you remove the accordian bellows, and tilt the moon roof up. You can see how much play it has. Push up on the glass and you will see.

I never open mine so I put foam blocks underneath to support the weight better.

I did as you said and can definitely notice more play from the right hand side hinge.

Can you please be a little more specific on where to put the foam blocks? Are you able to send a quick photo? I don't use mine either so its no loss to me.

Thanks, this rattle is really annoying.

You can search many threads on this topic. People have different locations of rattling in different spots. As for me it's in the area in my pics below. That's what solved the rattling issue for me. I just used a coarse scrubbing pad I had laying around. Folded it enough to stuff under the hinge and it has worked since. To put the foam you want to do it in the closed position there's enough room to do it. You'll have to see how much you need to support the weight of the glass. Add some then test by pushing up the glass a few times to see if it rattles. I added foam to support both sides it all depends on what you need.
