Default Someone keyed my car.

Went to the gym. When I got out there is a long single scratch on my passenger side. Covering both doors. And YES I can feel it with my fingernail. It could of been deeper but nonetheless it is deep enough to not be removed by a simple scratch remover. Any advice?

Damm...That sucks man. I feel for you. Some kid scratched my fender not too long ago. It hurts everytime I look at it. Best you can do is take it to your local detailer and ask them if they can sand out the scratch by wet sanding it. They should be able to tell you if they can do it or not. Also for future reference try to avoid parking in busy areas. I always park my car in the back where no one other cars are present.

Pics? You may be able to wet sand and buff it out if it's not down to the base coat or further. If its down to primer or bare metal, it'll be more difficult to repair.

They won't release it to him unless he makes a police report. Which then only the police will review it.

I hate to see any other car had keyed by someone BUT
TO ME, other people would key our car for 2 main reasons
1. Simply your car is nicer and much more beauty than what they has (jealous reason)
2. you got suck parking or doing something wrong while getting to parking area

Of course ther will be A LOT LOT LOT MORE reason to be key (like somebody getting bored, showing up to the other guy/girl ..etc..)
Please correct me and forgive me if i were wrong

In my observation, the people most likely to be keyed are those that try to avoid door dings by taking two parking spaces. This holds even if lot isn't full, and even if the person takes two spaces at the far end of the lot.

I still don't understand why people do this. I parked in a nearly empty garage today and came to someone right next to me.

This is just me but I would not wet sand the paint off to match the depth of grove.
Mask off, gently sand w 600/800 grit, spray on some hardened clear and then hit it 1200 grit. 2000 grit and buff.

Thin clear doesn't do well in the sun.
