Power steering/Electrical failure

I still wonder if this is whats happening to mine. I haven't found anyone in SC to work on the navigation unit but last week it started coming on when I started the car and would stay on for about 2 mins. The maps and back up camera worked good when it was on. But I haven't had problems starting since I replaced the battery. Can an alternator do that?

Did your alternator light come on when all this starter in the beginning?, I'm having a similar problem but no light warning , thanks

When my alternator went out I had no warning lights, it just failed, and I did notice my navigation screen would stay on for about a minute and then it would turn off. At which point the AC and power steering and many other things stopped working.
