Aftermarket Touchscreen Bluetooth/Navigation/Stereo
Hey all, I'm the proud new owner of a 2006 IS250 and I’m looking to purchase an aftermarket touchscreen Bluetooth/radio/Navigation etc. My vehicle did NOT come from the factory with the Lexus nav unit. Apparently that’s important to my search.
I'm not comfortable with ordering from China and would prefer to stay with a good ol’ recognizable brand such as JVC etc., plug and play would be great but if it’s more work I’ll have it professionally installed. Recommendations from other owners who have previously purchased and installed a new unit would be amazing, I’m all ears!!
Thank you all all and I look forward to getting some great info!!!!

If you want to install a standard aftermarket stereo, you can look at this kit: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-kit-real.html
Generally, the Chinese units are fine, but it has a few known issues because it's localize to the Asian market (e.g. the temperature is in C, the radio frequency is not right, and the airbag light).

Im not a huge fan of that option to be honest... maybe I’m just being too picky. Have you seen the “Tesla style” screen/tablet unit that is being advertised? I wonder if anyone has tried that option? Anyways thanks for the reply....

With OEM, you remove the existing device in the dash, connect the adapter cables into the OEM wiring harness, connect the harness to the OEM NAV unit, installed! Cake!

No no no Gville350... I’m just saying from what I have read and mind you I literally just bought the car last Friday so I’ve had little time to research the topic but from what I’ve read so far installing a OEM unit into the cars that came factory without the Nav unit is a pain- BUT if you can point me in the right direction to some thread that states what you’re saying.... pretty much plug and play - then I may be your buyer!!

Within the seller ad below, along with the NAV unit itself, he is offering the adapter harness for those with a non-NAV car to use the OEM NAV unit. If you have questions about the install and such, you can message Mysta, he's a local bud of mine.

non-nav to nav is not a plug and play ordeal but it's not impossible. how comfortable are you with this?
