2007 IS 250, Yay or Nay
I'm looking to pick up a 2007 IS 250 with 180k miles on it for around $4,000.
I want to use it as a daily driver and a car I don't have to baby.
Only thing I need is solid reliability, which Lexus is known for.
However, there could always be bad apples in a bunch.
Is the 2007 IS 250 that bad apple?
So, for a 2007 car this has more than average miles.
If you said yes to my first question, can I expect to drive this well past 200k miles?
Approximately around what miles will I need to start worrying about repair bills for this car?

4k Is not bad for a 2007 IS250 with 180K. I would not say a bad Apple in the bunch. I would like to remind you with the age and milage of that car expect some hefty repairs to keep it running great. Also watch out for big wear and tear problems like ripped leather seats or threading. You want to remember that yes the car can go beyond 200k miles, but what is the point of driving it when the Interior is falling apart, parts making clicking noise, it wont make you feel like your in a Lexus. These cars like mine will have carbon buildup and may need treatements to get the gunk out the transmission. Does not cost alot but is needed maintenace. Remember you get what you pay for so sometimes a car for 4K can be another Brand and you may get mroe value. If you choose to stay with us Lexus IS group, test drive it, see if the Quality is there for you so you know you get your money worth. No one want's a broken G.I. Joe action figure, same applies. My car is a 2010 IS 250 RWD purchased at 90K miles for 10 grand. I put 4K down and I pay 250.00 a month on it. This is my first Lexus I got last year. This gives you an example of if your serious about driving a car you plan to keep a few years. If you dont plan on it then settle for a Regular Economy car so that you can save for the Newer Lex. By now you can find 2011, 2012 in Super great shape at most Dealers. If you buy Privet then you assume all cost on repairs and AS IS responsiblity. Hope That Helps you out.

I'm gonna say no
and I have a 2007 IS250
Mine was basically a CPO car and basically new. Problem, I found out what was done to recondition it. I've not had a prob..yet...but fully expecting it.

You are worrying at 92K miles, and I confidently (?) bought 08 IS250 with 155K miles over the past weekend.
I do most of the maintenance work myself on cars, and I'm hoping my son will keep this car for at least several years,
until he can boost his income.
