Startup glitch with key fob
Today I was standing next to the car with the drivers door open and i had someone in drivers seat press the start button while the key was in my pocket and when the car started to crank i walked away but it just kept cranking for like 10 seconds straight and wouldn't start, when i sat in it, it started up just fine no long cranks, it never did that before could it be that the key wasn't detected midway of starting up and it shut off the fuel pump or something? or could my car have symptoms of something failing?

Logically speaking it started cranking while you were moving away from the car. If it started that can become safety issue. You mean cranking continued until you come back to the car? I think cranking stopped after certain amount of trying. Logic is a sequential event. To start the engine the key should be within range as a precondition. You removed that condition. Often times sequence of logic is broken the result is unspecified in software. When software is written there is defined object which needs precondition.

You explained it way better but it makes perfect sense now, It kept cranking so then i got in and pushed the start/stop button for it to stop cranking. Then hit the button again and it started normally.
