Courtesy Door Light Won't Work
So a while back I replaced my courtesy door lights with LED bulbs. The one on the driver's side works great, but the one on the passenger door doesn't anymore. I bought a replacement light and it didn't work either. I checked to make sure there wasn't a blown fuse and the fuse look fine. What could possibly be the issue? My guess is maybe is something with wiring?

Did you try fitting the LED bulb in the holder the other way around also. LED bulbs are polarity dependant and I am guessing that the one that works you put in the correct way around and the one that don't/didn't was the other (wrong) way around. Unless it is indeed faulty and there is probably a high chance of that with a mass produced unchecked Chinese product. idealy the power should be OFF when replacing bulbs to eliminate the chance of a voltage spike, so when installing into this posistion ( door courtesy lights) the only way to power off would be to find the fuse for that circuit or dis-connect the battery because having the door open switches the power on! And I guess it would be a bit difficult changing the bulb with the door closed!!!! if you suspect wiring then fit the bulb that you know works from the other door ( correct way round) to see if it is the wiring or bulb at fault. |
Try swapping the whole light assembly between doors. Those courtesy lights are a pain to take apart to swap bulbs. I'm just guessing cheap China LED bulbs. I've had many start flickering after a while.
