The 2IS350 has a distinct edge over the 3GS350 performance-wise. The 3GS350 carries close to a 300 lbs weight penalty, has a 5 inch longer wheelbase, has slightly less peak HP/TQ, and its differential has a taller final drive ratio (3.73) compared to the 2IS350 (4.08).
All of these attributes combined will negatively impact the GS350's handling and acceleration capabilities when compared to the IS350.
To the OP, if you feel the price is right for a low mileage 2007 IS350 in excellent condition, I would go for it. I'm still the original owner of my 07 IS350 and besides having to tweak the suspension with OEM and aftermarket parts to suit my liking, I absolutely love this generation of Lexus IS. It has a sleeper car status when it comes to straight line acceleration and the curb weight/wheelbase of this generation is just right for being a corner carver while maintaining its status of being a compact luxury sedan.

Well, now that you know what the car is worth on trade, top dollar pulling 9k, I would offer them slightly more. (not a KBB number, this is actual market data dealers use ) They can't expect to get what a dealer is going to sell the car for. I would also think an IS350, RWD, isn't in high demand in Utah. I would suspect the majority going for AWD given the area and winters. Either way hope the info helps out.

They are quite different animals with the longer wheelbase, length and weight. I drove one and decided to get an IS instead. After meeting some people selling their IS, I ended up buying a Infiniti G37s. I went with my friend who picked up a 2007 with 99k on it. He got it for 10k it has new tires. I was pleased with the condition it was in. The car shifts smoothly and the engine is very smooth. I drove it to his home and it felt loose around the corners. I suggested to him to get the F sport rear sway. I think it would be great with the F sport springs and shocks. I have seen them used on ebay for $600, but I have only driven one with the sways.

depends on the installed options, assuming the car has navi, ml, rear camera, memory seats, HID, heated seats , and all the maintenence and recalls were completed ( no melting / sticky dash etc) I'd say around 13k? offer them 9k if so.
