If they replace all 4, yes. Depends on the tires they pick. I paid around $650 to have 4 new continental DWS put on my Lexus installed out the door. Highly unlikely they will need to replace all 4 tires in a year.

I still stand behind my comment that the savings in gas per year will wash out the added expenses in tire wear.

The alternative is a es350, but I know she would like the convertible.
In our dreams. 15,000-20,000 would be about right. The IS and its derivatives are notorious for negative camber. Usually the rears will go out before the front. I replace two at a time. When I have bought four tires at once, it was never more more $780 installed. Bridgestone Potenza RE760s

I was hoping to actually gain an monetary advantage by getting better gas mileage. I can almost see the gas gauge move on the GX470...

I figured I can relate, recently traded in the wife's suv for the same reason.

She would just like a convertible and we believe in Lexus(Toyota0 Quality/long life. As you can see by our current vehicles mileage, we get our monies worth out of our cars. The tire situation does worry me as it could get pricey. I will check with Americas Tire to see what they say. No chance of going to only 225-40-16 all around and rotate them? I suppose the wider rear rims won't do well on the front?
I laughed out loud when I read your posts because my mom drives hard and slams on the brakes as your wife does and is also a Realtor. When my friends rode along with her on a house tour, they would grab onto the arm handles in fear like on a roller coaster. Brake pads and tires got expensive.

I just left Americas Tire and got a quote of $1496.00 for 4 rims 18x8 with 40 offset ($120.00 ea.) and 4, 245/35-18 Continental Extreme Contact DSW tires. Out the door the tires would be around $913.00. So if I could get say 35K miles per tire, ( she drives about 15K per year) then about $500 per year. I just got 55K out of Pirelli P-7's on my 1999 Camry... So I guess the question is, if I keep the IS350C for 5 to 7 years minimum, then it would probably be worth it to get the squared rims?

Long term, I would say yes. Especially given the amount of miles your wife drives. Honestly I think you will get 3 years out of those tires, with proper rotation. You also have the OEM set as back up, depending how much life is left in the tires. You can also check out the classified section to see if another member is selling a set of rims + tires that help out.
