Default advice from experienced owners please [re: fuel tank/fuel filler neck leak]

I need to drop the gas tank to see where it is leaking from. its only when I fill it do I smell gas and it drips down the rear tire quarter panel. the tank will have to go back on while i get the parts. what ELSE should i be doing since i had to drop it? gas filter, right ? what else?the straps of course, right its down why not.

There was a recall for cracks happening around the fuel pressure sensor. Check your VIN to see if the work was done and if it's covered.

He may be referring to the fuel pump assembly gasket. The larger hole on the left side looking at the picture. IMO you don't need to replace unless it's pretty beat up. I resused my old gaskets on a GS400. When changing the fuel pump, and filter from the assembly. It has about 8 screws all 8mm I think. It should be similar on the 2IS. Just make sure to tighten evening all the way around snug. Don't over tighten too much, or you'll risk stripping the tank. Maybe yet cracking the plastic assembly module. This goes for when transferring all the other components. Fuel pump module, gauge sender, and the pressure sensor.
