Noob oil change question
I'm new to the 2is and changing the oil on this is a little different from other cars. I've been searching on google on what size I should use for the oil filter wrench. Everyone has different suggestions for sizes like some folks say 64/14 will work or 64/18.
I'm also having trouble finding a good one. I called lexus and toyota its 30 bucks for a damn oil filter wrench. I called Harbor Freight and they don't have a clue the lady I spoke said they don't sell them separately and I have to buy the 3 piece set.. I called Autozone which has the best price so far but I heard not to trust those ones from autozone or from pepboys. Could the autozone one be really that bad? And what size do I really need?
Here are my other questions
1. Do I really need to put a 6.6 quarts or can I just top it out at 7 quarts?
2. Do I need the replace the gaskets on the oil filter cover?
3. Do the oil filters include the gaskets for the oil filter cover?

I find my 08 IS250 takes a full 7 quarts now and it's under the full line. Buy this tool off amazon:
I bought one 6 years ago and it's been a great investment.
Yes, ALWAYS replace the o ring that goes around the housing. All OEM oil filters come with a replacement. Look at getting an drain valve to replace the bolt; makes changing the oil a lot easier.

Experience mechanic would have to check the dip stick before doing any oil change to see how oil burn that the car experiencing that determine on oil volume. 7 quarts won’t hurt your car but help on the oil burning problem.
i have minor timing chan cover leak and using 7 quarts now.

If it's your first time changing the oil. You might find the cap a little difficult to remove. Once you get it off don't over torque the cap installing it back. The next time you'll find it a breeze removing it for the next oil change.
