Default SEA 0-20 or 5-20 for is350 engine oil.

Hi all,

Have anyone ever try SEA 0-20W or 5-20W grade for is350 car, yet? thiner viscosity should be better than 5-30W, isn't it?
Thank you for your opinion.

Just stick to what the oil cap, or manual says. You'll be ok with it.

5W30 is what was originally recommended by Lexus, this was further updated to include 5W20 as an approved oil, however 0W20 is only recommended for 2014+ IS350 engines.

For the IS250 the switch to 0W20 was made for 2011.

Default Is this change for IS250 apply to models after 2011 ?

Jeff
Mine is an IS250AWD 2009 that has a very low mileage 41K miles. Most of my drives are below 5 miles in urban city. I mostly drive agressively . it in automatic mode most of the time with max in 4th gear (3-4k RPM) should I stick with the 5w30 as recommended in my service manual or else ?. I live near montreal canada where the winter temp can fall for 10-15 days below -20F
regards
Luc.
