Problems with Car since Service/Recall - Door Lock Actuator
Hi All,
First time poster here - hoping you can help.
I took my Lexus IS250 (2008) to the local Lexus shop recently for the fuel and airbag recalls. Both went fine however my middle touch nav/console had been unresponsive and so I requested it to be replaced which they quoted and installed for me.
Since then however I have had the alarm beeping multiple times and the door lock actuator (rear driver's side) stop working. I'm told the beeping and the broken actuator are linked and that it would cost me $480 AUD to replace.
I argued that it was a result of the console unit being replaced as up until then I had not had any problems. Can anyone confirm if it's something they could of altered/changed as a result of installing the new touch unit? I'd like to save the $480 given the coincidental circumstances.

The beeping and the lock not functioning are related. If one door fails to lock, it beeps 8 or 10 times instead of the typical once. But the actuator is not related to the nav unit. Unfortunately, the door lock actuators on these cars are prone to failure. Once one goes, you can probably expect the others to follow suit shortly.
