If you can find and afford an 08 IS350, get that. 06 was the first year so Lexus had to work out some bugs, and they made changes each year after that. 07 you can disable traction control plus antenna fin on roof. 08 they improved steering response, changed rim color to liquid graphite (which looks better in my opinion), and increased rear leg room by scooping out the backs of the front seats.

The IS350 is much much faster (like 3 seconds faster 0-60 which is HUGE in the automotive world), while sacrificing little in MPG and engine is more reliable. I had to compromise and get an 07 IS350. I've heard people say they wish they got the 350 but I've never heard anyone say they wish they got the 250.

350 as the 250s as plagued with transmissions problems.

Personally I wouldn't get either because the mileage is too high, but the 350 is probably the better bet. No carbon buildup and an extra 100 hp without any fuel economy or practicality sacrifices.

How did you get this info? I'm been on the board for years and never heard of an automatic 2IS with transmission problems.
