08' IS250 Won't Start After Alternator Replacement!! Please Help!
Hello Everyone,
I recently changed my alternator out as my battery kept dying on me. I followed this awesome tutorial:https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/752435-picture-diy-lexus-is350-alternator-replacement-or-removal.html. Bare in mind I already swapped out two new batteries. Now that the whole alternator swap is complete, my 08 2IS won't turn on. The brake is super stiff when I depress to start the car. Also some electricals work and some don't. The start button light stays orange even after pressing the brake as hard as I can all the way down (I read it could be a vacuum issue). I understand there is no power going to my brake lights. So then after all these failed attempts i troubleshooted my key fob, which I replaced the battery to. Still no luck. Checked all the fuses and they seem to be intact and none blown. I can hear the car trying to start however it's like a electric buzzing/whirring noise that goes on for about five seconds until the car tries to turn on. When I try to unlock the trunk or the doors nothing other than the "beep beep" happens. When I press the lock button nothing happens, the security light is still blinking and my alarm goes off when I press the button on my key fob. My radio doesn't turn on either. Someone please help I've spent a whole day trying to troubleshoot and no luck! https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ima...lies/frown.gif |

I know this is an old post but I'm sure it will help someone one day. While taking out the alternator it seems you pull on the harness and it can disconnect from starter plug.. yup.. it was easy as that!

Please explain where the thing you might pull when taking alt out please
