Default Windshield Cracked! Where To Get A Used One?

Just happened today I'm so pissed we take care of our cars then a frikin rock hits it and does damage. My insurance deductible is $1000 so its going to be me paying for it. I'm not getting a cheap aftermarket or overpriced dealer windshield so I'm looking for a used one. Lexus recycling Rancho Cordova has them for $150 but they don't ship. I need to find a Lexus salvage yard in OC, LA, or San Diego.

Also my car has the rain sensors but I don't care about that as long as the windshield looks the same with the black grid around the mirror.

Anyone know of a Lexus salvage yard in this area??

UPDATE--Ive located a few salvage yards in the LA area that have windshields but they are from IS250 with no rain sensor. I assume its the same windshield and I don't need the sensor. But I think the black grid around the mirror is the radio antenna.

You'll need the rain sensor "window" or your wipers will not function properly. The sensor needs to be able to "see" the rain on the glass.

I would think shipping is going to be the challenge. Murphy's law and all....

Good luck,
Tracy

Meh, I wouldn't buy a used windshield. It could have small pitting that you don't notice until it's installed. Have you checked with Safelite?

I decided to get a brand new Lexus factory windshield--lot of money but I don't want a cheapy aftermarket. Retail is $518 but Im getting it for $387 as I work at AutoNation and I ordered it through our Lexus store. I can get a discount on installation too. Still $500 is a lot of money. But the current windshield is 10 years old and has a lot of rock chips--I plan on keeping the car for a long time so a new windshield will be nice.

Also--in looking at the crack Im now thinking it could have been a BB gun shot. I was going only about 35-40mph and the strike was very loud. I will be reporting it to police today.

Yeah lexuspartsnow lists the windshield for $400 but then it costs $230 to ship it LOL I'd pay $400 for a Lexus windshield too. I bought my car with cheap glass and it very clearly has some waves in it. Pretty annoying

Only because I work at AutoNation was I able to get a Lexus windshield for $400 thru employee discount, list is $700. But with tax, installation, and new clips/side trim my total was $700 out my pocket ouch!!
But I figure a cheapy aftermarket one would have been around $400 total so I paid extra for the best!
