Default Transmission flush

Hi everyone,
I'd like to switch to AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (blue cap bottle) instead of Toyota's ATF WS fluid.
My question is how many quarts / liters of fluid do I need to buy to perform this flush? Can anyone chime in?
Thanks for your help.

I just had my transmission fluid replaced this past week by Lexus and I was told it was about 4L or 1 gallon.

Thanks SeanO,
Is your car 6 Speed manual or automatic? RWD or AWD?
I guess I'll contact my mechanic and ask him how much exactly is needed for this procedure. He says he does this regularly to a lot of taxi cars.
Thanks for your input man.

I flush my transmissions with 12 quarts of World Standard every 50k.

Why you guys are using the word 'flush' I'm assuming you're dropping the pan and changing that oil?

A full flush using the proper pumps would be a LOT more than 4 L

There are two methods:
Drain and fill shown in the video below and "flush" by using transmission exchange fluid machine.

How to measure transmission fluid level between 104 and 113°F or (40 and 45°C) using handy ScanGauge II

My car is 6 speed auto and RWD.

My car had the fluid flushed - so it was pump in and pump out temperature controlled the entire process.

Depends on the dealer really. I think I paid about $300 at Lexus of Memphis.

Drain and fill is safe. ATW WS 1 Gallon is needed.

You should feel smoother downshifts. I do it whenever I start hearing hard shifts and they go away after fluid change. Usually every 30k miles. It is not synthetic and you must change it to maintain the transmission.
