Default 2010 IS350 passenger seat belt occupant sensor help!

Hey guys, new here... just purchased hey 2010 IS350 and I have a quick question for you guys. The passenger seat belt occupant sensor seems to be extremely sensitive or even bad. It says there is somebody in the passenger seat sometimes, even when nothing is on the seat, and EVERY time I have a very light jacket on the seat. This causes my seat-belt chime to go off non-stop if I go anything faster than parking lot speeds. I've searched the Forum and figured out I can disable the chime, but the seat belt light will still be flashing on my center console.

Has anybody else had this issue? Am I being unreasonable having a light jacket on the seat and the system not thinking somebody is sitting there without their seatbelt on? What can I do to fix this? Should I replace the airbag occupant sensor in the seat, and if so, how much would that probably run? Looking for some direction here as this is somewhat frustrating because I have to buckle the seat belt on the passenger seat even when nobody is sitting there to get the chime to go off. Thanks in advance everyone, and I look forward to contributing to this forum in my own ways in the future. I definitely love my car already!

On my 2008 is250 I have a similar issue, kinda. I experience an issue where for a few seconds after someone gets out of the seat the alert keeps thinking someone is there.

It shouldn't be that sensitive. Mine doesn't go off unless I set something kinda heavy in the seat, like a case of beer lol.

You can disable the seat belt chime until you figure it out so it doesn't drive you insane. This post shows you how: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ml#post1588110

Sounds like the in-seat sensor is bad. Bummer. The only fix would be finding a good, used replacement seat.
