Hey folks, I need a little help here.
I am in the middle of changing out my water pump on an 07 Is350, and while cleaning the water inlet for reinstall, a piece fell out of it and I'm not sure exactly how it goes back in.
I found a place that it fits in, but there is nothing to hold it there. Maybe the water flow keeps it in place?
Here is a picture of the piece. I sure don't want to put this together and it be wrong. Any ideas?

Well, I think I solved my own mystery...it's part of the radiator cap! Evidently, the previous cap came apart and this fell down in the water inlet piece and stayed there until today. Crazy!

Yep! Many members have mentioned this happening. I REALLY need to proactively replace my 12 yr old radiator cap!

What's crazy is that there actually a place in the water inlet where that piece will seat almost perfectly. Cost me an hour just trying to figure it all out.
