Default Advice on CV boot repair

Have a qoute from my mechanic who ive been taking my car in for regular maintanence for many years now. I know his prices are on the higher side but i havent had an issues with his work. Im quoted $300 for inner and outter boot repair with him cleaning the OEM axle. $600 for inner and outter boot with an aftermarket axle if it needs to be replaced. Now I have a local ETD tire in town where i take the car for wheel installation. All ASE certified techs quoting me $300 for inner, outter boot repair with aftermarket axle. I guess im asking which is a fair price and if being ASE certified really means much?
