I've read about some having faulty ground wire connections or bad ground wires over time. Try removing the battery to inspect the wiring a bit better.

This would also explain why the car stopped while running.
Yes I tried a few more times to start it after. If the connection from my battery cut out for a bit, which is why my car died while still on, would all the lights flicker? because it was at night and when my car died all my lights and radio, etc stayed on and didnt cut off.

^Well, if the battery was the issue, all electronics would have stopped working. I'm back to thinking it is your ALT again.
