Default Plastic film on temperature and radio dipslays

I bought my 2008 IS250 in 2011 after it came off a 3 year lease with another individual. After some time, the temperature and radio power started flickering on and off intermittently. After one dealership visit I was told everything was working fine. Halfway home it began again. I then ended up leaving the car with the dealership for another week. Still, I was told nothing was wrong. This time everything worked fine. I wasn't sure what to think but shook my head and carried on with life.

After a few changes in seasons and temperatures (in the NY metro area), I noticed a weird look and sun reflection in the console displays. I don't drive often and ignored it. Now, a few years later, it looks as if there was a protective plastic cover on the glass displays - like the plastic film you peel off from new phones, electronic equipment and such - which was left on at some point and has continually warped as warm and cold weather seasons have come and gone. Makes me think the dealership replaced my unit with a new one and for whatever reason acted as if they didn't, but who knows.

Thus, I now have sometimes difficult-to-read displays and am wondering if there's an easy way to get to the inner glass. It looks like there's a small gap between the outside glass cover and the actual front of the display. I've Googled and read a ton, but with zero luck.

Thanks to any and all! I've attached my best attempt at a photo to show what I'm seeing.

First thing first, Dealer won't ever do anything for free especially they have to pay out of there pocket.
Second, If you would like to remove or access to the film you feel, you would have to remove the whole unit, take off the face, remove the array PCB (holding by 3-4 screws), thenyou will see the plastic screen

Thanks much whitebeast! Yeah, I had very little hope for help from the dealership. I greatly appreciate your info. I haven't done any car radio work in 20 years. Figured it required an extraction but didn't want to spend that time and find out it would be a fail.

Cheers
