I have the 11 ISF ECU and brought it to the dealer and asked for a steering ecu calibration - got charged 1 hour of labor. I got the 11 ECU over the newer ones because there was a bigger jump from the earlier revisions to the 11 versus 11 to 13-14 ISF ECUs plus it was cheaper. More steering weight in "power" ECT mode, more forgiving traction/VSC system over the stock ECU as we gain the ISF "sport mode" in place of the "power" mode iirc. Still in winter season up here, I still have to turn off all aids to have any fun but leaving it on it'll let you get the rear out a bit before kicking in compared to the instant cutoff with the stock ecu

Doing a where used for the IS-F shows it was only used on the F. Doing the same where used on our 2IS shows it was only used on the 2IS. Point being I was trying to see if there are other chassis to steal parts from and there is not.

2013 F-Sport PN: 89650-53082
Stock 2IS PN: 89650-53061

If the IS-F does indeed open the window of user inputs before vsc/trac intervention that would be a bonus as the 350 F-Sport ecu is way too aggressive with power chopping/wheel corrections when attempting to have fun.

While on this topic;
Someone with F-Sport try this, push the trac button 4 to 5 times and see if it firms up your steering. Anyone heard/read anything about this?

I'm just not sure if I trust myself to install it... Is driving there with no power steering really the hardest part?
Remove battery after taking off the two terminals and the metal battery bar
Underneath battery - remove the battery tray
you'll see the old ECU, you might need a flat head and some force to disconnect it from the connectors
after removing the ECU, grab a screwdriver and remove all the screws for the bracket and transfer the entire bracket assembly to new ECU
reinstall ECU and put everything back into reverse order.

I thought having no power steering was going to be hell, but it's not actually that difficult, just account that you'll have to use more effort in low speed turns and you'll be fine

Update: 2013 F-Sport ecu PN: 89650-53082

ECT does not appear to change steering input effort, nor does Trac off. However, the pedal dance does....

I thought the pedal dance was for only the early models?

2013 you can hold the trac button while stopped for like 5s and it disables trac and vdim.

The pedal dance does this too and leaves the steering all heavy even at crawling speeds. What is odd is one time I could have sworn I did some button push and got the steering to firm up.

I'm still a newb at years do what ya know... haha!

I asked them to explain how removing the battery and swapping out some brackets could possibly amount to anything longer than ten minutes, but still got nowhere with these dopes. Their amazing tech also informed me that this part "isn't for my car and may cause problems"...

Classic bait and switch. I suppose I'll try my luck with Toyota.
I still think you should install it yourself and drive over. If you trust yourself to do an oil change you can do the swap. The connector pretty much attaches on one way so I don't think there's much to mess up in this situation. Power steering is pretty much only useful for parking but aside from that it just feels like slightly heavy steering when you're on the move, similar to the feeling you'll get from the mod to a degree

IIRC, he'll need to remove the brackets from his unit and attach them to the new unit (as if the new unit comes with the brackets pre-installed, they won't fit into his car. Think they're just held on with 10mm screws). It'll be a PITA to drive with power steering to the dealer, but it's doable. I drove about 5 miles on mine to a Toyota dealer to have it done for my '12 unit.

If you do plan on taking it to Toyota, and their service advisor says no, ask to talk to one of their techs. Luckily the service advisor I spoke to when I had mine done was a former tech and said there was no issue doing it there, just an hour of labor. I'm more surprised the Lexus dealer is BS'ing you on the swap, but eh, what can you do.

Tech - Sooo... What were you looking to do? (already explained this to the service advisor like three times)
Me - I want to install an IS F steering ECU in my IS 350 and have it calibrated with Toyota Techstream software
Tech - Why? Is there something wrong with yours?
Me - Umm, no. It's supposed to improve the steering feel. More sporty...
Tech - You do know this part isn't for your car, right? It won't fit and may cause problems which we wouldn't be liable for.
Me - Actually many people have done this, and you just reuse the original brackets. It should be fine.

After that was the unsuccessful price negotiating with the service advisor
Can you find an inde Lexus repair shop in your area?
