Default Difference between Pedal Dance and Button Hold? 07+

Hey guys,

I know the whole "how to get TRAC and VSC off permanently" has been beaten to death, I used the search feature but actually couldn't find the answer to this question.

2007 IS250 MT - I did the pedal dance and only the TRAC button came on, no "VSC Off" Light but I've read that doing the pedal dance disables both. Where as if I hold the button down for 3 seconds the TRAC and VSC Off light come on. So, does the pedal dance disable both even though the VSC Off light doesn't come on or does it just effect the TRAC?

Asking because I will be tracking this next year and wondering if there is a difference. Thanks in advance!

The "pedal dance" is only necessary to use on '06 models, like mine. On '07+ models, you just do want you mentioned early with holding the button down for 3+ seconds.

Yes providing you car is 2007 or newer, hold the button down next to power button on the right side of the steering wheel. If you do it while your moving you only will get the "trac" off and it will switch itself back on at 40 mph. If you want to turn it off completely you have to be at a complete stop and you have to hold it for 10 sec. Then you will see "trac" off and "VSC" off. It will stay off for as long as the car is on. When you turn the key off you have to do it again. That's the way it works on my 2007.

Thanks for the responses guys, but the question is still unanswered. When doing the pedal dance only the TRAC light comes on and it's permanently off. When holding the VSC button it turns the TRAC and 'VSC OFF' lights on. I'm wondering if the pedal dance turns VSC off as well even though the 'VSC OFF' light is not illuminated.

Don't wanna sound like an *** but what does it matter? u have an 07, why are u concerning yourself with pedal dance? I didn't even know the pedal dance would work at all on 07+...but if only one light comes on when pedal dancing then probably no it doesn't turn both off.

I'm going to do my best not to sound condescending because that is definitely not my goal here but, it matters because theres a difference if you can turn just TRAC off vs. turning TRAC and VSC off with the button. There's no button option to turn just TRAC off (if you tap it once then it comes back on after 40 mph, if you hold it - it disables TRAC and VSC). So maybe I want to just disable TRAC all the way and not VSC, which is why I'm asking if there's a difference between the pedal dance and holding the button down since the VSC OFF light does not come on when doing the pedal dance.

Sorry, if the light doesn't come on then it is not off.

I have time slips at the drag strip that show consistent 1/8th mile times whether using PWR or Normal mode AND whether having T/C on or off. I have an '06 IS350; so I had to conduct the "pedal dance" to remove T/C.
