Default Spyder Auto Projector Headlights Review

Hello CL!

I figured I'll create a review for Spyder Auto Projector headlights since there's many other vendors such as Spec D, VIP Motoz, K2, etc that has these product as well...

Sorry phone quality pics... lol

Front bumper removed.

One light installed // Comparison

Both installed.

Testing lights.

Outdoor pic

Lights on

The HID I had on my previous headlights (H11) did not fit on these. I order a set of H7 bulbs and also replacing the H1 bulbs with yellow. I should have it this week and will retrofit the HIDs. I will post an update.

Overall, I love it. The fitment is 9.5 out of 10 lol. The lighting of the LED strip is nice and bright. Very noticeable during the day. Would recommend.

Very popular lights on both the IS and GS models. We sell a ton for both cars. Looks great OP. Very clean and natural.

Do these headlights come with Ballasts, or do you have to swap ballast out from OE headlights? Was there any special modification made to get them to fit? Is the LED bright?

So what are the differences between the Spyder ones and the VIP Motoz? I have the VIP Motoz and from a look standpoint, they look identical

What is the Light Output difference from the D2R in the OE headlights to the H11 lights in these Spyder and VIP Motorz? I'm considering the purchase of these.

Hey guys. New to here because i needed some help specifically with these headlights. I've done a bit of search on the forums but haven't seen anything on it besides this so i figured i'd ask.
I have an '06 350 and my headlights are working intermittently. I've replaced the ballasts and bulbs but its still not working right so i decided i should just go ahead and upgrade them. (They're getting old anyways)

My question is can i make these work on Factory HID? They say that it will not fit factory HID/Xenon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, someone please answer this guys question, cause I'm in the same boat. Sick of replacing the OE Ballasts and just want to get these headlights and get an aftermarket HID kit.

Since I heard Spyder and VipMotoz are the same, I suggest you take it to a car wash or so to get your car wet to see if any moisture gets in your headlight. I contacted VipMotoz and since I don't have a back-up they offer to send me a passenger headlight with a return slip inside for the old one but I have to deposit $180.00 for insurance.

That's another thing, some people add extra sealant once wired up as a just in case sort of deal. VIP is at least pretty good on the warranty side of it

So how are the people that had Factory HID getting these SPYDER/VIPMotorz headlights to fit and work???. I contacted CariD.com and they responded back saying that they won't fit cause the connector plug is different?
