Using smaller than stock wheels?
Greetings,
So for the past three days I have been all over online asking if certain wheels will be ok on my 06 is250. And I got half saying it will be ok and half saying it's very bad and won't work.
So I'm hoping for a definitive answer here haha
So I know my stocks are 17x8 +45 with 60.1 center bore
The replacements I had in mind are 17x6.5 +55 with 64.1 center bore (I know I'll need hub centric rings)
I know there's someone one here that's using rav4 wheels that are 17x6.5 but with different offset. So wanted to make sure it would be ok or not

Even though the Rav4 rims have a greater offset, they will fit without rubbing because the 10 mm offset is less than half of the rim's smaller width.
However, the rim's smaller width means you must use a narrower tire and this is where you run into trouble. You won't have as good traction as well as the tire may not have the weight carrying load need for the car, meaning they may be overloaded.
My advice is don't do it..
