Default 17x9 ET45 RPF1 fitment on IS350

Hi
I found a set of RPF1 in 17x9 ET45 locally.
Will they fit over the front brake of an IS350?
If I put 255/40/17 on them, will there be rubbing concern? ( I am on tein s-tech lowering spring)

Thanks

...255/40/17 would not fit on the front ,that would scrape.
Only way to know for sure is to test fit the rim to see if it would clear the caliper...but 255/40 tire definitely wouldn't go on the front.

THanks for your reply.
As mentioned in the thread, offset is 45mm (thus ET45)

regarding tire size, I know sportskid run 255/35/18 on his front without rubbing, and 255/40/17 should not be larger?

If it does clear the caliper its going to be REALLY close. I put a 17x9 et48 PF01 on my car to check, it rubbed on the caliper, and I'm guessing the RPF1 has a little less clearance than the PF01 I tried. My guess is you are going to need a 5-10mm spacer to make it clear, and I'm also guessing you'll need to roll the fender for a 255-40 to fit without rubbing.

If the wheels are local, see if you can do a fit check. Then please report back; someday I want to swap my back 17x9 et35s to the front of my car.

There are quite a few of us running 245s, and I think a few running 255s on the front without issues. If the offset is right and the fenders are rolled I don't see the tire size being the biggest issue here.

The 255/40/17 tires should have the same diameter as a 255/35/18 tire set-up (635mm). OEM stock tire diameter for the front is approx. 637mm.

I think you're going to have rubbing issues with a 45 offset but I can't say for certain. As WylieKylie suggested, your best bet is to get a 5-10mm spacer to add additional clearance.

Another point is that you are lowered...imo you will scrape especially on turns and going up or down even small inclines like driveways or entrances.
It may roll straight ok , but any turns with speed or slight bumps I think it will scrape.
The stock tire is 225/40..going 255 is a bit wider...like they say you may have to roll and fender pull, and still would have minor scraping I believe...but never know till its on, and under real life driving situations...

Do yourself a favor and do not buy 17" wheels. They will look soooooooooooo tiny. And quite honestly look a little silly. Are your intentions to use this as winter wheels?

I initially wanted to run a similar setup until I realized that 17s might not (and correct me if I'm wrong) fit with the front brakes of the IS350.

Thanks everyone for the great information.
I am currently running 17" stock for winter and 19" vossen for summer
I am looking to get 17" lightweight rim to reduce the unsprung mass and also tire cost (255/40/17 is hell lot cheaper than 19 inch option for summer tire)

so my question is...
1. If the wheel have high offet (40-50mm range), where does the tire want to rub at locking turn?
2. If the wheel have lower offset (30-35mm range), where does the tire want to rub at locking turn?

Just trying to get idea on what to look when I test fit them on.

p.s. I want to avoid rolling if possible, and I do have plan to replace stock shock with coilover when the shock starts leaking in the future.

Many 17" wheels work fine on the IS350, including the OEM wheels (which some IS350s came with from the factory). I run 17" OEM wheels in the winter and 17" PF01s in the summer. For all those that think 17" wheels look bad, I have a really hard time seeing the wheels when I'm driving the car, and 17" wheels perform better.

1. The 19X9 ET48 wheels I tried rubbed on the suspension upright, regardless of steering lock.
2. I'm no expert here but I think the fender is the issue with lower offset. This may also change depending on if you are lowered.

I initially wanted to run 17x8 front and 17.9 rear RPF1 rims on my car just to save weight and improve performance ever so slightly. I could care less about looks but the fit over the front brakes is what worried me. I might reconsider this now.
