Performance mods or Appearance mods?

The IS350 I have looked at has Fsport Sways, the rear is under $200. As I mentioned, I saw a Black IS350 with custom wheels, looked awesome. You can always go witlh some Megan Coilovers and have them adjusted as low as you want. They are only about $600 then the install. If you have a pre-2011, you can always go with new lights, they aren't the easiest install. The cars are pretty fast to begin with, hopefully there will be the computer reflash that with upgrades will bring the hp to around 330. Other than that, you can get a IS-F as low as 20k.

The IS350 is plenty fast for my liking.. other then F sport Intake, tanabe exhaust some F sport suspension upgrades, all my mods have been aesthetic..
I've thought about buying some PPE headers eventually to get some real hp gains but it also makes the car louder and I'm not totally sure thats something I want haha
The obvious mods are lowering, wheels, tints, spoilers, grills, lights
Keeping the paint clean and waxed is a big part of appearance don't forget

Honestly, I go back and forth on mods. Haven't really done any customization because I love my IS so much as is but I'm starting to lean more towards it these days. I'm thinking cosmetic more than performance but that's because I live in California and can't quite get my head around the restrictions. I hear conflicting things all the time and I'm not a racer, so if I do take the plunge, it will be cosmetic.

Pretty much all you can do are appearance mods. If you bought this car to make it fast (and by fast I mean real power, not 15-20 whp with bolt ons or 50-70hp with a sc) then you bought the wrong car. Save up for a 350 or F if you want real power for the money.

I really just meant like bolt ons or small aesthetic differences to make the car stand out a tad. The 350 is definitely the best blend between performance and efficiency. I didn't buy this car because I wanted to make 500whp, but adding 20-30hp with bolt ons and a tune would be nice.

Nobody has been able to crack the ECU. There was recently a thread about some guy in Dubai who claims to have cracked it and done a tune, but has yet to produce legitimate dyno numbers.

Im all about the performance mods. Ive done intake, got a set of ppe headers ready to install, and an oil catch can. The catch can does wonders especially since our cars burn oil.
Mid-pipe and exhaust is next on my list.
Once my performance bug is satisfied, maybe ill start on cosmetics.
If i didnt have to send my ECU off to the states (i dont have a spare) id definitely consider the tune.
So far I have coils, and camber kit installed as cosmetics.
I have also have a gfx front lip and gfx side skirts, but waiting till i find the right rear end to complete and put on my body kit.

Since there really isn't much to do with performance, I think minor cosmetic changes are the way to go. I haven't done anything yet (only because of $ issues), but will probably go with new wheels and some black out (it's a black 250). Just stuff to make it a little unique to me. If it had the umph to back it up, more drastic body type changes would be cool. But I'm not a fan of those that spend $2000 on wheels and wings on a $1000 Civic.
